Callen’s violin and Jody’s guitar and beatboxing make up the sound that is uniquely Acoustic Element, whose music has earned them worldwide success. It’s a success built on the hard work, playing multiple gigs in one night and remaining committed to their own unique sound.
Acoustic Element have graced elegant weddings in South Africa’s fabled winelands, brought the heat at the swankiest events and hit the road in Europe, to their first international gig in Stockholm, Sweden in 2017. It was the beginning of a new chapter in the band’s journey since they chose a life of music over the corporate world in 2015.
Since then AE have performed in 17 cities across 10 countries – including weddings in Lake Como, Corfu (Greece), London and at home in South Africa. In 2019 they embarked on 10 international trips – a journey that would take them to a corporate gig in Linz, Austria and a stadium performance in front of 37 000 people in Dusseldorf.
The duo has provided the soundtrack to some of South Africa’s most elegant occasions, rocked festivals locally and abroad and even played for private audiences that have included Bill Gates, Morgan Freeman, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Siya Kolisi. Their residency at Cape Town’s exclusive One and Only Hotel, once caught the ears of countless VIP guests like Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, DJ Snake, Nicky Romero and Martin Garrix.
