Empire, the exclusive live band, has returned from an unforgettable three-month European tour and is ready to electrify Mzansi’s luxury weddings and high-end events this summer. From performing in Monaco with royalty to an intimate show at Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik’s bistro in Nice, Empire is proving why they are among the most in-demand event performers and wedding entertainers in the industry today.
A European summer to remember
Empire’s tour took them to some of the most iconic locations on the French Riviera, including Nice and Monaco, as well as Sardinia. One standout performance included a private occasion with Prince Albert’s daughter, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, just steps away from the royal palace. The band travelled by super yacht from a gig at a famous beach club in Èze directly to the royal performance – a testament to the calibre of audiences they’re attracting internationally.
Speaking on the experience, Empire brand manager and spokesperson says “The energy was incredible – no matter how sophisticated the audience, people want to dance, sing along and let loose when you give them the opportunity. We’re bringing that same international energy home to Cape Town this summer.”
Playing for a master of his craft
Another highlight was performing at JAN Bistro, run by South Africa’s own Michelin-starred chef, Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen. The seated show allowed the entire audience to experience the band’s energy at once. “The venue was quite intimate and charming,” he says. “Every table booked because Empire was playing that night, so the guests were very receptive and engaging. And of course, it was a privilege to perform for Jan, who himself is a master of his craft.”
A new dimension to live entertainment
With months of performances in Europe, Empire has refined their style and broadened their repertoire. “We’ve added theatrical and interactive moments that make our performances truly immersive – it’s not just music, it’s an experience,” he adds. Guests can expect sing-along moments from a catalogue that now includes Spanish and Italian favourites.
