On The Bill (OTB) is proud to welcome multi-genre producer and DJ Luke Goliath to the family, in a dual capacity as lead producer at OTB Studios and signed DJ on the OTB roster. With a career already marked by international collaborations, chart-topping releases and critical acclaim, Goliath brings with him not only technical excellence, but a vision that aligns with everything we believe in at OTB: artistic freedom, collaborative spirit and the courage to do things differently.

A career defined by versatility and success

Hailing from Cape Town, Goliath has built a reputation as one of Mzanzi’s most exciting and versatile producers. His work spans genres, blurring boundaries between pop, R&B, soul, house, and afrobeats – a quality that’s seen him collaborate with a string of industry heavyweights including Shekhinah, Lloyiso, Eric Bellinger, Vscript, Roark Bailey and Musa Keys.

His production credits include Gold, Platinum and Diamond-certified singles, and in 2023 he was nominated for a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Pop Album, thanks to his contribution to Lloyiso’s Seasons. Goliath is also published by the legendary Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, underscoring his international impact as a producer and songwriter.

How the OTB partnership came to life

Goliath’s journey to joining OTB began through a collaboration with Acoustic Element and Jimmy Nevis, a project introduced by mutual friend and fellow musician Darren Petersen. That initial session led to a deeper connection with OTB CEO and founder Jody Abel – one based on shared values and a drive to build something meaningful.

“From there, Jody and I grew as friends. There’s no crazy, magical story. Just a link through music,” Goliath explains. “He has the studio space and reached out to me about operating in there and BOOM, here we are.”

The partnership has since evolved into a powerful creative alliance. With Goliath now at the helm of OTB Studios as lead producer, the studio is poised to take its output – and its impact – to the next level.

Building a new sound from the Mother City to the world

Situated in the heart of Cape Town, OTB Studios is a cutting-edge space featuring a world-class recording studio, commercial production room and dedicated podcast facilities. It’s the kind of environment that allows creativity to thrive – and Goliath plans to make the most of it.

“I know that what we’re about to do and how it can impact the industry – especially with the shift happening and everyone looking at Africa right now. It’s the perfect time to be in Cape Town at the forefront of the local and national music industry,” he explains. “But then globally too with the rise of amapiano and afrobeats. We’re looking to change the world and to make real magic through music. We have access to amazing local talent and the infrastructure’s there too. We want to move people. To change people’s lives by allowing them to feel something and to escape the mundane reality of this world – even if only for an hour or two.”

Goliath’s collaborative approach in studio reflects that same ethos. His sessions are often spontaneous and unfiltered – moments where magic is allowed to happen naturally. “Look, to be honest, I’ve recently gone 5x platinum on a single. I’ve gone diamond before. Those are really cool moments. But today I was in studio with a singer that OTB just signed, Sethu G. We made this crazy record and that was like magic to me,” he says. “And then Jason Ward and Mone came in and they started jamming percussion on top of the record and it was just this great experience. Being present and enjoying that moment for what it is – that’s a defining moment for me.”

A DJ sound shaped by African soul

In addition to leading the creative vision at the studio, Goliath also joins the On The Bill artist roster as a DJ. His signature sound leans into afrohouse, incorporating African percussion and spiritually rooted top-line vocals.

“I’m trying to merge a bunch of things within the afrohouse sound. The African elements will mainly come through percussion,” he says. “And I love African top line vocals – they just sound so spiritual. I grew up going to church, so that sound will always resonate with me.”

It’s a style that’s both deeply personal and highly adaptable – a quality that makes him an exciting addition to OTB’s lineup of incredible DJs, all available for bookings at venues, restaurants and events across South Africa and beyond.

More than a milestone – a shared mission

For Goliath, the partnership with OTB is less about structure and more about flow – a creative rhythm that allows space for spontaneity, passion and bold ideas. “What I enjoy about working with OTB is that there’s not a lot of strategizing. Sometimes people just want to plan and plan and plan. But that’s moving in fear,” he says. “With OTB when an idea strikes, we act on it. We make the necessary phone calls. We make it happen. How are we going to do it? We don’t care. But there’s a mission and we’re going to accomplish it. The universe will provide and it will materialise. What I really enjoy about Jody is the nerve and the audacity he has to just go after what he wants.”

As we look ahead, there are already several exciting projects and collaborations in the pipeline – but what matters most is that the groundwork has been laid. Goliath’s presence at OTB is more than just a signing – it’s the beginning of a movement rooted in authenticity, creativity and the kind of audacity that moves the industry forward.
